Account Director Australia Client Services
The role
We are looking to hire an ambitious Account Director to work on one of our biggest clients, delivering influencer/talent-led production projects internationally. Your role isn’t just focused on great client service – you’re a gun at project management, you know how to handle stakeholders at all levels of seniority, and you’re the sort of person who loves the detail – all the way to delivering on brief and on time.

As an Account Director, you can hold your own in strategic and creative conversations, and foster attention to detail and accuracy in all communication. As a social native, you’ll also be checking on the accuracy and standards of work of your colleagues to ensure the team upholds a high standard of work. You don’t do this alone. You will work together with your own Client Services Team (around 18), as well as collaboratively with Strategy, Creative, Editorial and Production. Together you truly shape the role social media plays in advertising with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Account leadership
- You will be leading client meetings and you make sure they’re efficient and productive. You truly understand the client’s business and the category.
- You provide day to day direction to ensure the whole team knows where we are, where we need to go and how we’re going to get there
- Thinks ahead, anticipates opportunities and problems and then makes a plan. You are able to spot and manage issues as they arise and act to mitigate risk.
- Relationship management
- You are a true collaborator and you earn the respect and trust of your peers and client team. You are perceived as a leader by the (client) team.
- Leads by example and is a positive force within the agency. Key contributor and participator in agency and individual team culture
- You always communicate in an open and honest way and you act with integrity
- Strategic and creative contribution
- You actively contribute to the creative process and build on ideas and you are an evangelist about delivering creative ideas worth talking about
- Highly strategic with a thorough understanding of social inc. platform knowledge, creative excellence, paid media and measurement
- Strong creative judgement and is able to effectively shape work
- Commercial capability
- Accurately forecasts and delivers revenue against it
- Estimates accurately and negotiates effectively with clients and suppliers
- Identify opportunities to increase client scope and then makes a plan to go for it
While the specific content of your role is clearly defined, the nature of the demands placed on us by our clients means that this role will evolve over time and needs a ‘can do’ approach to picking projects up and making them happen.
Your skills and experience
- Min 5-7 years agency and/or talent experience
- Strong social and influencer experience
- Strategic outlook
- Expert project management
- Proactivity, quick thinking and problem solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- History of leading strong and trusted client relationships
- Budgeting, forecasting and resourcing skills
